Homeopathic medicines are derived from mineral, plant and animal sources.

They are administered in a single dose of a single medicine in the form of a very small tablet. 

For children this tablet can be placed in water for the child to drink.

In simple cases, the medicine is given at the end of the initial consultation.

In more complex cases where there is a lot of information to digest,, further study after the consultation is required to identify the appropriate medicine. The patient is called back to receive the medicine at a later date.. 

Side effects if they occur are minor, brief and are part of the restoration of the balance of the person.

Patients are advised not to change anything in their current medical therapy. It is dangerous to do so. 

If after the homeopathic medicine has acted the patient wishes to change their medical therapy they must first consult the appropriately qualified and registered medical prescriber. 

The duration of action of a homeopathic medicine varies, but generally lasts from 6 weeks to several months.
